  6. Reports of Committees
    1. Roane Jackson Technical Center Administrative Council (2/17/2022)We still do not have an LPN instructor, but we may have one next week when we have a special meeting. We discussed Senate Bill 651 and its impact on multi-county vocational centers. And finally, we received an update on the water plant project. What was initially estimated to cost under $200k, it has not been estimated to cost $700k. They will now go back to the SBA with a request for this updated cost.
  7. Superintendent's RemarksConstruction updates: Under the ESSERF plan, addressing HVAC at RCHS, we replaced the cooling tower, but the units also need to be replaced. A cost estimate from Thrasher is $5.4 million. Since it is ESSERF funded, we can wait a couple of years, but not much longer. For the new SMS, Thrasher should have construction documents finished and sent to the SBA next week, to get bids out by the end of the month. Met with First Energy this week to discuss the power solution on campus. They have a plan sketched out to divide service between RCHS, SMS, and the athletic complex. There should be 3 different runs, using the new access roads to get them finished. There is no cost estimate given, yet. Offices at GEMS and WEMS are moving along, putting in finishes for electrical and networking and will finish up with furniture deliveries next week or the following week. The drainage project at GEMS has progressed. The design is better now, but we still have other concerns to address. For the Safe School entrances at SMS, the ramp/walkway is being addressed. They are still waiting on materials like windows for the entrance so they can complete this project. We hope to get started on patching the roof next week, while waiting until some time in June to address the auditorium roof. We are on pace to finish almost everything by June, which is when we can start paving at RCHS.

    1. Adjourn until the next regular meeting on Thursday, March 10, 2022 at 6:00 pm at Roane County High SchoolMotion by Gregory Boggs and seconded by Eileen Richardson to approve. Motion carried. (9:18 pm)
