- Positively ChargedWe want to recognize all students and staff that participated in the Black Walnut Festival. There is a lot of work that is put into the festival and it is nice to see the festival almost back to normal attendance. Tomorrow is the day that schools must finalize their enrollment certification. It looks like our enrollment dropped by .89 students from last year, which is progress considering our drop off rate over the past years.

- Reports of Committees
- Roane Jackson Technical Center Administrative Council (10/18/2022)There was no new business, but we lost a cosmetology student. Hopefully her situation will change soon and she can rejoin. The first tractor for the CDL program has been purchased for $95k and we should receive some funding from the state. We are finally approving bids from the water plant project and hope to start prepping now to do the work in late spring.
- Superintendent's RemarksI attended an EDA meeting this afternoon. The big topic of discussion was the developments in Jackson and Mason Counties and now extending to us for a housing study. I spoke with Commissioner Corkrean after the meeting about our needs as a county. Mayor Williams spoke about what they will be studying here soon. We have lost many businesses here in Roane County over the past 30 years and we haven't seen this optimism about development here in a long time. I will be in Bridgeport for the Superintendents meeting tomorrow morning. The Hope Scholarship is back on again. We certainly have to watch our enrollments closely. Press reports so far have been that charter school enrollment is lower than the charter schools projected, but we should know this information soon since charter schools must also certify their enrollment.
