Conduct public hearing for the proposed closure of Geary and Walton Elementary Middle Schools and the consolidation of their grades K-5 into Spencer Elementary, and their grades 6-8 into Spencer Middle School and the consolidation of Pre-K students from all schools into the space now occupied by the Office of Student Support Services at Roane County High School
   1. Public ParticipationCorrie Ota set the public participation sign-in sheet out at 4:30 pm and it was removed at 5:00 pm. The following members of the public spoke and asked questions/shared concerns regarding the proposed closure of Geary and Walton Elementary Middle Schools: Megan Starcher, Joe Weiland, Velvet Nichols, Ranessa Nichols, Justin Shears, Linda Drennen, Carrie Bragg, Yawana Surface, Lidia Surface, Lana Underwood, Michelle McPherson, Jackie Higginbotham, Benjamin Shamblin, Chad Perkins, Valerie Mace, Lea Runnion, Sophie Ashby, Daphne Smith, Linda Keaton, Stephanie Cowger, Susan Beard, Evelyn Shears, Joe Ross, Macy Brohard, Jessica Boggs, Terra Keen-Smith, Gabe Boggs, Kevin Hall, Dixie Jacobson and Janetta May. Terri Myers decided not to speak after signing up.
3. Adjournment
   1. Adjourn until the special board meeting on Wednesday, October 29, 2025, at 5:00 pm at Spencer Elementary School. The next regular board meeting is on Thursday, November 6, 2025, at 6:00 pm at Roane County High School.Motion by Daris Harper and seconded by Dennis Carpenter to approve. Motion carried. (8:59 pm)
