   1. House Bill 2499 Training - Board Members, Administrators, Teachers, Inteventionists, ECCATs, Aides and CounselorsBoard members and administrators provided required House Bill 2499 training to teachers, ECCATs, interventionists, aides, and counselors, with attorney Rick Boothby of Bowles Rice delivering the session. Boothby reviewed key components of state and federal special education law, including IDEA, Policy 2419, least restrictive environment requirements, integrated classroom responsibilities, disciplinary procedures for students with disabilities, and educator rights such as requesting IEP meetings, accessing training, and advocating for students without penalty. The training emphasized legal timelines, procedural safeguards, and the growing number of students with disabilities statewide, highlighting the increasing impact on classroom instruction.
3. New Business for Consideration and Potential Action
   1. Consideration and possible action on the superintendent's recommendation that, due to an error, the Board rescind its prior decision to grant continuing contract status to a professional employee.Motion by James Minney and seconded by Daris Harper to go into an executive session to discuss this personnel item under WV Code 6-9A-4(b)(2)(A). Motion carried. (3:29 pm)Motion by Daris Harper and seconded by Dennis Carpenter to return to open session. Motion carried. No action was taken in closed session. (4:08 pm)Motion by James Minney and seconded by Daris Harper to accept the Superintendent's recommendation that the Board rescind its decision on April 24, 2025 to grant Kaylin Morris a continuing contract because it was granted in error.
