This agenda is available to the public upon request at any time during regular business hours preceding the upcoming Roane County Board of Education meeting. Public attendance is welcomed and encouraged. This meeting is a meeting of the Board of Education in public for the purpose of conducting the County School System's business and is not to be considered a public community meeting. Per Roane County Board of Education Policy 020, a time for public participation is provided during regular meetings only unless otherwise noted on this agenda. The Board reserves the right to amend this agenda with emergency personnel/financial matters which may arise after publication.

  6. New Business for Consideration and Potential Action
    1. Board consideration and action to declare that a portion of the property comprising the Geary Elementary/Middle School property, together with the improvements thereon and the appurtenances thereunto belonging, located at 9538 Clay Road, Left Hand, West Virginia 25251, is no longer needed for school purposes and authorize the Superintendent of Schools (or her designee) to obtain a survey of the portion of the property no longer needed for school purposes and take such other action as is appropriate to prepare said property for disposition in accordance with applicable law.
    2. Board consideration and action to declare that a portion of the property comprising Walton Elementary/Middle School property, together with the improvements thereon and the appurtenances thereunto belonging, located at 90 School Drive, Walton, West Virginia 25286, is no longer needed for school purposes and authorize the Superintendent of Schools (or her designee) to obtain a survey of the portion of the property no longer needed for school purposes and take such other action as is appropriate to prepare said property for disposition in accordance with applicable law.
