      2. Math4LifeMath4Life will be launching this month. Math teachers and WV counties have worked together with WVDE to promote uses of math in everyday life to address our nationwide math crisis. It encourages people to pursue careers that are math-related and highlights the use of math in careers that aren't math-related. Anyone can participate in this campaign by taking the Math4Life pledge.

    1. Roane-Jackson Technical Centera. A new natural gas purchasing contract has been adopted. b. Five students from the cosmetology program have graduated, with more to come soon. c. A number of street benches and picnic tables were made for Spencer and Ripley. d. RJTC received a $20,000 grant for their Welding Program. e. Construction planning has found a solution for the drain issues. Three drains will be routed to an oil/water filter and another that is not in use will be filled with concrete.
    2. Roane County WVU Extension Advisory Boarda. Ben Cummings was re-elected as President b. There are plans to possibly move WVU Extension Agency to SMS. There are some accessibility concerns.
  7. Superintendent's Remarks1. Geary Elementary Middle School has received a $7,000 grant for two 3D printers through WVDE / Math4Life. The printers will be used for project-based learning. NASA has already trained some of the teachers to use the equipment. 2. GEMS also received a grant for $11,000 for a new dishwasher. Their previous dishwasher broke earlier this year. 3. Melissa O'Brien received a grant from The Education Alliance for 7th graders to visit colleges. 4. There is an education forum on Monday, March 25, at 6:00 pm, at Blennerhasset Middle School in Parkersburg. A local education meeting with legislators is planned for Monday, April 8, at 6:00 pm at Roane County High School.
  8.
