  5. Reports of Committees
  6. Superintendent's Remarks1. We received a $1,500 VEX robotics kit and access to training, sponsored by NASA in hopes of fielding a competitive robotics program this fall. Students at RCHS will have the opportunity to compete against their peers across the state and potentially around the country in this program. 2. Met with TPG concerning the J-1 Visiting Teachers Program. We are still working with them. The next big step for them will be to get their teachers certified. 3. We have to consider how we will move forward with our facilities maintenance. We currently have an RFP out for HVAC services. This is something we might also consider for our Sanitation Plant Operator as well as the general maintenance work. With our current Sanitation Plant Operator retiring, there will be only 1 maintenance person left in the county. It may be more beneficial to contract these services out, in hopes that there will be less of a need for these services once we complete some our construction projects with the bond.
  7. Adjourn until the next regular meeting on Thursday, May 23, 2019, at 6:00 pm at Roane County High School.Motion by Eileen Richardson and seconded by Gregory Boggs to approve. Motion carried. (9:24 pm)
