- Reports of Committees
- Roane-Jackson Techincal Center Administrative Council (6/25/2020)They will continue with Mr. Chapman and Mr. Gump for technology services. We discussed returning to school, but there are few guidelines for tech centers at this time. They are still waiting for some money to come in from the CARES Act. Most activities now concern the adult programs such as LPN student candidates that are being seated. We are still waiting for guidelines for the high school students in the Fall.
- Superintendent's RemarksI have toured the construction sites at all our schools. Contractors at SES and RCHS are ahead of schedule, but work will come to a halt as we wait for needed hardware to arrive. We are shooting to have everything done before school starts on August 13. Walls are up and electrical is in. Painting is underway, ceiling grids are being put up along with other fixtures. At SES, SMS and WEMS, the parking lots are underway. Poles may have gone up at WEMS today. Milling and paving should start there next week. Buried under SMS parking lot are pieces of an old building, which may cost us more than expected to remove and grade. At SES, Kelly Paving worked on some of the fill and regrading there to add some new spaces and improve the traffic flow there. As a bonus project at RCHS, we're thinking about adding a canopy up front and also some landscaping. Now that our summer projects are finishing up, we hope to use some of the leftover funds on some bonus projects around the county. Frontier installed phones in all our classrooms and are ready for fall, should we be back in classrooms when August comes.
