   1. Positively ChargedRCHS student, Emerson Simons, took 7th place in the State Girls Golf Tournament. The boys will be competing at the end of the month. The College Foundation of West Virginia named RCHS one of the 18 high schools named as one of the Champions of College Access and Success in 2020. RCHS participated in all 3 events for college-bound students in West Virginia to transition to college.

   3. Student AchievementWe received a $3,000 grant for Math4Life. GEMS was granted $2,000 and RCHS was granted $1,000. These grants were awarded to 15 schools throughout the state for their growth in Mathematics last year.

7. Superintendent's RemarksSafe schools entrances at RCHS and Spencer Elementary are still waiting on windows and doors. Our contractor's supplier's supplier has had some quality control issues, which have delayed installation. Concerning deliveries, we are still slowly receiving technology items and pushing them out to the schools. We have been steadily receiving PPE, but we are still awaiting the arrival of the PPE from Highmark, which is expected to be enough masks and other equipment for every student and staff member. We have had a weird start for our school year, which is to be expected. Staff seemed to like having a week to prep, as well as the phase-in period. It gives everyone a few days to settle in and we could continue to do this even after COVID-19. Roane General Hospital clinics are up and running. They have been at our schools monitoring the entrances alongside our nurses, which has went well so far. There haven't been any temperatures that went over in the morning, but there were a few in the afternoon after being out in the sun. After pulling them aside and cooling down, they were tested again and fine. By screening for fever, these systems can easily find other ailments, as other counties have found.
