- Presentations
- Positively ChargedNow that we had our Girls Golf Team do so well, we would like to focus on our Boys Golf Team. They may possibly be headed to the State Tournament also and we hope to offer all the support they need. The flash drives that we ordered in July have finally arrived. 700 student iPads are expected to arrive tomorrow. Fortunately, Apple had a shortage of the model that we ordered and have upgraded the student iPads to cellular models which will allow us to provide SIM cards to students without WiFi at home but do have cellular service.
- Public Participation
- Student AchievementWe have had a challenging start this school year. Due to COVID-19, not only have we had to learn a new way of doing things, but we are also moving forward with a lack of testing data from last year to direct our path. To avoid that happening next year, we hope to do some testing this year. Some schools will be doing NAEP testing, which is a federal requirement that has not been waived. I assume that the GSA testing will be either waived this year again or given without accountability.

- Reports of Committees
- Roane Jackson Technical Center Administrative Council (9/15/2020)Discussed the calendar, but didn't make any changes yet. We have clinical sites for the LPN students, and since we now have clinics in our schools, they can also be used as clinical sites. Constructions projects are continuing. The schedule will be a big issue due to the situation that Jackson County is in. The Forestry teacher of 43 years has retired.
- Superintendent's RemarksRoane General Hospital has worked well in our schools. Every Wednesday morning we have a one hour call on Teams with Principals, Directors, and then with Roane General Staff to guide us on protocol and procedures dealing with COVID testing, contact tracing, HIPAA, etc. There were no positive cases in the schools. For Safe Schools Entrances, some of the glass is in, but it is difficult to get the external security glass. The protective film on the glass in front of the commons turned out very well. This one-way vision film allows you to see outside clearly from the commons area at RCHS, while making it unable for people to view into the commons area from outside.

- Adjourn until the next regular meeting, on Tuesday, October 6, 2020, at 6:00 pm at Roane County High SchoolMotion by James Minney and seconded by Gregory Boggs to approve. Motion carried. (9:32 pm)
