- Reports of Committees
- Roane Jackson Technical Center Administrative Council (8/17/2021)Concerning the water plant, they will be forfeiting the grant originally given by the SBA and to go back to the SBA to ask for more money. Good news is that the SBA can now give out 10% as opposed to the usual 3% to multi-county projects. It seems now that all the LPN students need to be vaccinated since their clinical sites have vaccination mandates. This may be a requirement for high school health occupations students in the future. We hope to get more word on this soon. They have hired Todd Cole as the new Criminal Justice Instructor since our previous instructor has moved to role of a Co-op Coordinator.
- Superintendent's RemarksBoggs Roofing has been working with us on some issues with roofing. Firestone took samples of the materials they supplied to the project and discovered that a batch of the sealant that we purchased from them was bad. Firestone has now decided to pay for repairs and modifications to all four roofs. Starting Monday, they will be laying out new material over all seams. Locks are being replaced at all our schools and buildings. Four of five schools have been completed and the board office will also be finished tomorrow. Jackson County has put together three options for their calendar for next year and will be presenting them at a hearing next month. We hope to start discussions on a framework for the next few years.
