      Progress is being made for the safe school entrances for WEMS and GEMS. Hoping to open those offices fully within the next few weeks.

      • Presentation
      Looking at Math and Reading Benchmarks, generally, our students performed better in Math than in Reading. Grades K-5 seem to be doing very well when comparing their percentile ranking with their national peers, while Grades 9-10 seems to be keeping up with their peers. However, grades 6-8 have shown some concerning numbers.

6. Reports of Committees
   1. Roane County WVU Extension Service CommitteeMr. Minney reported that WVU Extension Service is asking for an additional $2,700. They will be presenting on this at a meeting in the future. There was also a stakeholders meeting and they have compiled some ideas in the community that they feel they can work on.
7. Superintendent's RemarksThere were some rumors going around about an incident that allegedly occurred at RCHS. After an investigation by Mr. Heis and local law enforcement, it was discovered that there was no real threat, but the rumors have been difficult to manage even after an all call was sent out. Other construction updates: At GEMS, the subcontractor was working on the drain to fix what they did not do the last time. Also, Thrasher moving forward on the design of the new SMS and their goal is to have construction documents in the hands of the SBA at the end of this month so they can do their review and get bids out in March. Plans are being put together, to minimize the disruption on campus when we return in August. We should have some calendar revisions soon.
