7. Reports of Committees
   1. Roane Jackson Technical Center Administrative Council (5/17/2022)At the tech center meeting, we have a Nursing Instructor, but lost a Criminal Justice Instructor. Graduation is coming up next month for all the completed programs. Also, there is no update on the SBA project, but they wrote a grant for a middle school exploration program. The grant paid for a 24-foot trailer outfitted with equipment and computers, that will take around exhibits to the different middle schools.
8. Superintendent's RemarksOutdoor classrooms at GEMS and WEMS are completed. They are working at SES today. I spoke to a member of the City Council and communicated with Mr. McCutcheon about the Handimart Field. This field is one of the only baseball facilities in Roane County not in the flood plain. We hope to focus on this facility becoming a community resource for athletics, health and recreation and it may be a vehicle towards passing an excess levy. I have a meeting with the SBA and Thrasher to have a final review of the construction documents and to set a bid date. Tomorrow is our official last day of school for K-11. On Tuesday, we have a Curriculum Development Day at RCHS for all instructional staff. Aside from the sessions on technology and legal updates, the rest of the sessions are given by teachers to showcase great things teachers are doing in the classroom and to learn from each other in the process.
