We also want to recognize our FBLA program. Madison Lawson (President), Brock Tanner (Treasurer), Ava Bratton and Addison Parkins attended the FBLA National Conference in Chicago. Ava Bratton competed in Entrepreneurship and Addison Parkins competed in Journalism and placed 10th in the nation.

6. Reports of Committees
   1. Roane Jackson Technical Center Administrative Council (6/27/2022)We are still looking for a second LPN instructor and we hired a Jackson County deputy for the Law and Public Safety program. There is a new SBA grant in the June cycle for the water plant project, but this will probably not happen until next Summer due to the nature of the rebuild. Also, there may be additional charges from RJTC due to some new programs and their associated costs, such as costs to prepare the field to train truck drivers for the CDL program.
7. Superintendent's RemarksI will be attending a webinar covering a grant for electric school buses. This grant covers costs for buses and charging stations. We have expressed interest, but would like to test it out and see if it works for our county. For construction projects, bids for the construction of the new SMS will be opened on 7/27, without any further delays. Current SMS roofing project is finishing up. WEMS and GEMS entrances are nearly finished except for a minor issue with a door. They are still continuing work on the drainage issue at GEMS. It is hopeful that we will be finish all our projects by August and may concentrate solely on the construction of the new SMS. As of tomorrow, the current WVEIS for student information will be transitioned to a new platform. A month from Sunday, teachers report back to school and if any teachers wish to resign, they must notify our board. Any notices after deadline tomorrow will need the boards approval to be released from their contract. On Saturday, I will be out of town for a week for Vacation and for a National Superintendent’s Conference.
