6. Reports of CommitteesRoane-Jackson Technical Center Administrative Council Ms. Richardson reported that they employed a co-op student, lost a nursing student due to drugs, and approved on-the job training for a number of people. Also, they hope to finish the water plant project by July 10th and the Core of Engineers have approved the area for truck driving training. They had fair that went well and plan to do things for Black Walnut Festival in October. Lastly, they are also having many issues with WVEIS 2.0.
7. Superintendent's RemarksAs of this morning, Mr. David Roach will be our new State Superintendent of Schools. Tuesday evening, I attended a social event with other colleagues in Charleston, which included staff form Marshall University, members of the legislature, members of the state board and staff from the Department of Education. We had many discussions on where we were going as a state and we have a state board member that hopes to visit soon us soon. I was in Fairmont for professional development on what our roles as superintendent and board members could be in the upcoming election, in particular the constitutional amendments that affect education.
