6. Reports of Committees
   1. Roane Jackson Technical Center Administrative Council (July 18, 2023)There is still a need for an LPN Instructor. The program has been suspended until October. Mr. Cummings is trying to get legislative support to give teaching experience for real-world experience to CTE Teachers. The $5 million building project is moving forward to the design phase with the SBA. The water plant project has been mostly completed. The new pumps will arrive in September so they are currently hooked up to the old pumps with the new plumbing. The ESSER project will go out for bids soon to replace the old ventilation equipment.
7. Superintendent's RemarksNext week, we will have meetings with administrators and do building safety walkthroughs. Tomorrow morning, I will be hosting the superintendents from Clay, Calhoun, and Wirt County Schools to discuss small county problems. Our counties work efficiently, but we lack the resources. We need other counties to see how to also work more efficiently. Also, Kelli Whytsell from Calhoun County is retiring while her replacement, Michael Fitzwater, to be hired as the Interim Superintendent. This will be the 20th superintendent change across the state in the past twelve to thirteen months.
