  2. Presentations
    1. Positively ChargedWVDE released the accreditation and accountability metrics for each county in the state. We made progress in ELA Progress and Achievement, Math Progress, Discipline, and On-Track to Graduation. Our color rating went down in the 4-year Graduation category, but we still met standards, exceeding the state benchmark on 90%. We remained in the red in Math Achievement and Attendance and moved from being on watch in 5 categories to being on watch for Math Achievement and on Support in Attendance. The County Efficiency Measures show how well the county offices are functioning and meeting state codes and state policies. We are one of only twelve counties to have met standards in every category all three years they have been published. Overall, we continue to improve academically, and continue to lead in efficiency.

  7. Superintendent's RemarksAt RJTC, we will have instructors to teach the nursing courses and restart in January. I'll report more on that at the next meeting. Thrasher has sent an invoice for designing part of our HVAC project. We currently have an advertisement out. The pre-bid conference was a few weeks ago with eight bidders. We're optimistic on our project and it will start on the north end of the building and work its way through the hallways and get as much as we can done in order to update the 30 year-old HVAC currently there. We'll see more on this at our next meeting. Tomorrow morning, Senator Capito will be joining us for our Girls in Science event. Later that afternoon, we'll be in downtown Spencer for the Roane County EDA event to launch the new broadband project. Construction should start in January. Tomorrow night will be the biggest game we've ever hosted. We are second to North Marion, which is the only team to beat us in the last two years. The community has been showing support by putting up signs. So come out and enjoy a good game.
