   1. Positively ChargedThanks to the VH1 Save The Music Foundation and the Wing 2 Wing Foundation, SMS and Walton will each be receiving 40 instruments for their band programs. Secretary Randall Reid-Smith was here to announce the grant. We should be getting those instruments in August to promote the importance of the arts programs. By 2027, all WV middle schools should receive one of these gifts.
   2. Public ParticipationBrandi Workman, RCHS Business Education Teacher, introduced herself to the board and assured the public of the continued success of FBLA, despite the rumors. James Montgomery, RCHS grandparent, praised the success of his grandchild at Mountaineer ChalleNGe Academy.

7. Superintendent's RemarksThe SSAC held an emergency meeting at the Board of Control to reconsider classification for sports. The proposal that was approved by the Board of Control goes now into the State Board of Education that would modify the classification system to consider only enrollment and low socioeconomic status. Roane County will remain in AA.
