    Qualifications
    Valid West Virginia teaching certificate for assigned grades. Teaching certificate must reflect specialization in specail education and category to which assigned. Such alternatives to the above qualifications as the Board may find appropriate and acceptable, in an emergency, when no certified candidate is available.
    Responsibilities
    Prepare a schedule of work. Give copies to the Director of Services, principals, teachers, and others as needed.
    Make visits to the schools during the in-service week to work on schedules with principals and teachers for students who are already in the program. Make plans as to how and when students placed later may fit into your schedule later.
    Plan schedule so that one-half day per week is for planning, testing, writing reports and Individualized Education Plans, etc.
    Attend PAC meetings. Do necessary screening, testing, referring, report writing as is needed in the program.
    Prepare your part of the IEP for students who have been placed in the program.
    Work with regular teachers and with other specialists that make the team who will write the IEPs for students in the program.
    Act as resource person for teachers who have the children in the regular class. Keep principals and regular teachers informed about what you are achieving with the students.
    Check in and out of principals' offices at schools where you are assigned.
    Keep a regular schedule and be on time at your work station. If it is necessary for you to be absent or late, notify the principal and/or the Director of Services.
    Prepare reports on time for State Department of Education, Director of Special Education Services, principals, and others.
    Establish good working relations with parents and keep them informed of students progress and problems.
    Perform other duties as assigned, i.e. lunchroom, hallway, etc.
    Carry out other assignments given by principals, Director of Special Education Services, and/or Superintendent.
