    Compensation
    Salary based on experience and education level per Roane County salary schedule. Expected range: $37,222 - $71,101.
    Health and basic life insurance provided through West Virginia's Public Employees Insurance Agency. Health insurance premiums, which vary by plan and coverage level, split 80/20 between employer and employee. Basic life insurance provided at no cost to the employee.
    Position requires enrollment in the Teachers Retirement System through West Virginia Consolidated Public Retirement Board. New enrollees contribute 6% of gross salary with a matching contribution by the Board of 7.5%. Vestment requires 10 years of qualified service. Withdraw of employee contributions available upon leaving employment with a WV county board of education if deisred.
    16.5 annual days of personal leave provided, pro-rated for those hired after the start of the current employment term. Up to 4 days may be used each school year without cause pursuant to state and local policies.
    Pro-rated local attendance incentive (up to $500) provided for those who use fewer than 6 days of personal leave each school year.
    Additional benefits at the employee's expense.
    Qualifications
    Master's Degree in Education Administration, Educational Leadership or Leadership Studies preferred.
    At least three years successful teaching experience preferred.
    Professional Administrative Certificate appropriate to the school assignment.
    Demonstrated skills in school building organization, management, and scheduling.
    Knowledge and experience in working with WVEIS.
    Excellent communication and personnel skills, with a compatible background in curriculum and instruction.
    Demonstrated knowledge and/or skills in maintaining high rates of student attendance, academic achievement, and disciplinary standards.
    Willingness to work flexible hours.
    Responsibilities
    Demonstrates instructional leadership to enhance school effectiveness by improving instruction and augmenting student performance.
    Provides purpose and direction for school by viewing self as the school's leader, initiating action, taking responsibility, and motivating others to assist in setting and achieving the goals.
    Demonstrates cognitive skills to gather, analyze, and synthesize information to reach goals.
    Manages group behaviors utilizing persuasiveness and sensitivity to achieve consensus.
    Enhances quality of total school organization by establishing high work standards for self and others.
    Organizes and delegates to accomplish goals by establishing priorities and assigning tasks and activities.
    Communicates effectively with staff, students, parents, supervisors, and community.
    Provides leadership in the implementation of technology standards.
    Demonstrate behavior that reflects established professional responsibilities (i.e. attendance, punctuality and verbal/nonverbal communication).
    Prepare and deliver reports, presentations, and analyses as required.
    Attend meetings, conferences, and professional development opportunities as required.
    Perform other duties as assigned by the Superintendent.
