Summer STEAM + R Camp Teacher

    Qualifications

    1. Undergraduate degree from an accredited college or university required; Master’s degree preferred.
    2. Valid West Virginia teacher certification preferred.
    3. Familiarity with the school's curriculum and the individual needs of the students being served at the site preferred.
    4. Experience and/or training in elementary STEAM instructional practices is preferred.
    5. Experience with early childhood development aspects is preferred.
    6. Participation in 7 Mighty Moves book study and Science of Reading initiatives is preferred.

    Responsibilities

    1. Facilitate and provide direct instruction and enrichment in the STEAM subject areas.
    2. Create, plan, and instruct STEAM units of study.
    3. Effectively organize and facilitate hands on instructional activities utilizing appropriate classroom management strategies that will increase student engagement and reduce disruptive behaviors.
    4. Assess student reading mastery and content proficiency through formative assessments and student conversations.
