Qualifications
- West Virginia administrative certification required.
- Demonstrated successful experience in instructional leadership and personnel management.
- Strong skills in communication, data analysis, consensus building, and organizational leadership.
- Knowledge of curriculum development, human resources, educational accountability, and Title IX compliance.
Responsibilities
- Provide leadership and coordination for curriculum and instruction, PreK–12th grade.
- Lead and coordinate improvement efforts for curriculum and instruction to support student achievement.
- Supervise and evaluate county office coordinators in instructional and support services, including but not limited to educator support and instructional technology departments.
- Lead the county’s assessment and accountability efforts and serve as a key contributor in state and federal reporting.
- Demonstrate cognitive skills to gather, analyze, and synthesize data to guide continuous improvement efforts.
- Provide leadership and direction to enhance the quality of the total school/county organization.
- Lead the development and implementation of the County Strategic Plan.
- Organize, delegate, and manage tasks to accomplish county and departmental goals.
- Manage consensus and group behaviors to foster effective team collaboration.
- Perform the functions of the Personnel Director, including supervision and evaluation of personnel under his/her direct supervision.
- Supervise the evaluation of all county employees and ensure professional standards are upheld.
- Provide guidance and support to professional staff regarding certifications, permits, authorizations, and temporary credentials.
- Create, manage, and monitor the countywide professional learning and training plan to support the continuous development of all employees.
- Ensure equitable and efficient human resource practices that support recruitment, retention, and staff development across all departments.
- Serve as the Title IX Coordinator for the Board of Education, ensuring compliance with federal regulations.
- Ensure equitable practices and support a positive learning and working environment for all stakeholders.
- Communicate effectively with all stakeholders, including staff, families, community members, and board members.
- Establish and maintain positive public and employee relations in all areas of responsibility.
- Use technology effectively to enhance communication, collaboration, and documentation.
- Attend school board meetings and serve as a key advisor to the Superintendent.
- Participate in extracurricular events and programs where possible to support school and community engagement.
- Maintain and upgrade professional skills through ongoing professional development.
- Perform other duties as assigned by the Superintendent.
