    Qualifications

    1. Currently hold or previously held classification of General Maintenance, or passage of state competency exam for General Maintenance
    2. Currently hold or previously held classification of Electrician, or passage of state competency exam for Electrician
    3. Per WV Code 18A-4-8, must hold a journeyman's license as an electrician issued by the State Fire Marshal.
    4. Must be or be eligible to and become certified to use pesticides.
    5. Demonstrate good working skills in dealing with a variety of building and equipment maintenance tasks.
    6. Demonstration of good human relations skills. Logical decision making abilities

    Responsibilities

    1. Clear brush, cuts grass, digs ditches, and performs other minor grounds maintenance duties
    2. Responsible for shoveling snow from board offices
    3. Load and unload trucks, move or haul items such as supplies, office furniture, and building materials
    4. Assist in building repair, working with a plumber, electrician, carpenter, etc.
    5. Service county automobiles to the extent of filling with gasoline, checking the oil and wiper fluid, etc.
    6. Perform routine maintenance tasks of heating and cooling systems, such as changing filters and checking seals and duct work
    7. Assist in the coordination of the building maintenance program
    8. Install power switch gear
    9. Install electrical conductors and motor starters
    10. Install relay panels
    11. Install electrical lighting
    12. Terminate electrical lighting and electrical wiring
    13. Install instrumentation devices
    14. Debug and test process equipment
    15. Perform preventative maintenance
    16. Align rotating equipment
    17. Document amp and voltage readings
    18. Repair electronic devices
    19. Repair relay and lighting systems
    20. Repair power transformers
    21. Calibrate process instruments
    22. Troubleshoot process equipment
    23. Design control and power systems
    24. Calculate wire ampacity
    25. Calculate electrical power consumption
    26. Dispose of light ballasts
    27. Locate and layout devices for job from a blueprint or schematic design
    28. Figure materials list from blueprint or schematic design
    29. Compute service loads
    30. Install electrical environmental control components
    31. Install service entrance
    32. Install switch boxes and outlet boxes
    33. Maintain existing wiring
    34. Rough in feeders, branch circuits cables, and circuits
    35. Trim out electrical devices and appliances
    36. Install and maintain split-phase motors
    37. Install and maintain capacitor start motors
    38. Install and maintain motor controls
    39. Properly ground equipment before use
    40. Use the National Electric Code (NEC) to determine specific requirements for systems
    41. Follow lockout / tagout procedures
    42. Apply safety principles during working operations
    43. Perform related work as required
    44. Insure that each project and piece of work is executed and completed in a manner which insures total safety and integrity.
    45. Shall perform general repairs to buildings and grounds.
    46. Establish priorities and recommend changes and repairs on equipment and as new concepts become proven.
    47. Know structural strenths knowledge of various building materials, and be aware of and adjust or alter where large panels disturb a stressed area.
    48. Observe work hours and allow for timely clean-up, and secure job site before leaving.
    49. Identify steam, gas, adn water pressure capacities of operating units and safety pop-offs, valves, metering, and margins involved for safe operation.
    50. Know theiry and practical application of valves, traps, circulating pumps, water source heat pumps, pneumatic and electrical controls applied to operating plants.
    51. Must be able to follow specifications of unit manufacturers' diagrams.
    52. Shall comply with all national heating and air conditioning codes.
    53. Perform any other reasonable and appropriate task/duties and assume such responsibilities as the Superintendent or immediate supervisor may assign.
