General Maintenance / Sanitation Plant Operator

    Qualifications

    1. Currently hold or previously held classification of General Maintenance, or passage of state competency exam for General Maintenance
    2. Must be properly licensed to operate a wastewater treatment plant per WV DHHR rules and regulations
    3. Must be or be eligible to and become certified to use pesticides.

    Responsibilities

    1. Clears brush, cuts grass, digs ditches, and performs other minor grounds maintenance duties
    2. Responsible for shoveling snow from board offices
    3. Loads and unloads trucks, moves or hauls items such as supplies, office furniture, and building materials
    4. Assists in building repair, working with a plumber, electrician, carpenter, etc.
    5. Services county automobiles to the extent of filling with gasoline, checking the oil and wiper fluid, etc.
    6. Perform routine maintenance tasks of heating and cooling systems, such as changing filters and checking seals and duct work
    7. Assist in the coordination of the building maintenance program
    8. Operate and maintain sewage treatment plants
    9. Performs related work as required
