    Qualifications

    1. Meet qualifications as outlined in West Virginia Code 18A-4-7a.
    2. Meet minimum standards for certification as set forth by the West Virginia Board of Education in Minimum Standards for Licensure of West Virginia School Personnel.
    3. Earned Master’s Degree in Education required. Earned Master’s Degree in an area directly related to Curriculum and Instruction preferred.
    4. Exhibit knowledge of the duties and responsibilities of the educators and the ability to perform the duties and responsibilities as demonstrated in a personnel interview, which will be weighed heavily in the search/selection process.
    5. Show ability to communicate effectively with students, school personnel, parents, and community members.
    6. Show ability to work cooperatively and collaboratively with others.
    7. Show ability to motivate others and lead them to become highly effective educators.
    8. Possess good evaluations and / or recommendations from educational instructors, professional associates, employers, and/or supervisors.

    Responsibilities

    1. Provides support and assistance for educator growth and development and related services to principals, teachers, and staff according to the district’s WV SIPP.
    2. Models effective teaching practices with educators as needed and facilities the dissemination of best practices regarding curriculum and instructional methodology to include observing classrooms to identify educator support needs.
    3. Coordinates the delivery of technical assistance to educators as directed for district and school support.
    4. Supports assigned educators in utilizing data sources to make informed educational decisions for students.
    5. Assists in the collection, analysis, and interpretation of data needed for planning student supports, reporting, determining service delivery, making student programming decisions, and providing professional development to educators.
    6. Promotes the use of research-based practices in the identification, instruction, and assessment of students with disabilities.
    7. Communicates areas of strength as well as areas of need to principals and other supervisors to improve educational outcomes for students.
    8. Supports the implementation of required federal, state, and local policies and procedures.
    9. Performs assigned duties as assigned by the director and/or Superintendent.
