    Effective February 7, 2019

    1. For the purposes of these guidelines, and in accordance with RCBOE Policy 220, "summer school" shall refer generally to teacher-led or self-guided learning opportunities offered during the period between successive academic years outside of the 180-day instructional term.
    2. Summer school shall be offered annually for students at Roane County High School who earned a failing grade(s) in a course(s) of English, math, science, and / or social studies, and wish to recover the credit(s) lost due to this failing grade(s).
    3. Summer school may be offered annually for students at Roane County High School who wish to earn high school credit for a course(s) that is not regularly offered in the program of study at Roane County High School.
    4. The program of such summer schools described in Guidelines 2 and 3 shall be designed to maximize student success through support and instruction in self-guided learning opportunities.
